A spectacular party on May 21, 2009 marked the opening of the first Vapiano restaurant in Serbia. Guests at the party had a chance to taste and enjoy exquisite specialties from the Mediterranean cuisine - a variety of pastas, pizzas made from selected ingredients, a wide array of fresh salads, followed by delicious Italian desserts.
During the course of the evening guests were also able to watch masterful chefs prepare their food in front of them and choose sauces and spices they’d like in their meals.
The name "Vapiano" comes from the Italian idiom "he who lives a life relaxed, is healthy and lives longer." The Italian life style is blended in the restaurants’ interior.
An integral olive tree, positioned in the center of "Vapiano" restaurant, lays as a symbol of the Mediterranean cuisine. The Visual concept of the restaurant was created by the famous Milanese designer Matteo Thun. He imagined it to be a huge stage of small specialties. The restaurant has walls made of marble and natural stone.
